DENTAL CAVITY MYIASIS DUE TO WOHLFAHRTIA MAGNIFICA
A 79 year old fanner referred to a dental clinic because of toothache for one week. After extraction of a painful tooth, three larvae, 1.5 cm in length emerged from the dental cavity. Morphological study of the larvae proved them as W. magnifica. This is the first report of dental cavity myiasis from Iran.
متن کاملCalculation of lateral velocity estimation and error discrimination for railway wheelset to avoid sliding
Lateral velocity has very backbone position in the railway vehicle wheelset dynamics as it usually becomes cause of derailment by sliding due to insufficient adhesion ratio. This impropriate balance is pretext owing to contamination and weather procures the disturbances. This perturbation makes hindrances in proper running of wheelset on track. To analyze the noise, Kalman filter is used based ...
متن کاملThe effect of cavitation on glacier sliding
Basal sliding is one of the most important components in the dynamics of fastflowing glaciers, but remains poorly understood on a theoretical level. In this paper, the problem of glacier sliding with cavitation over hard beds is addressed in detail. First, a bound on drag generated by the bed is derived for arbitrary bed geometries. This bound shows that the commonly used sliding law, τb = Cub ...
متن کاملCompressional and EM Wave Velocity Anisotropy in a Temperate Glacier Due to Basal Crevasses, and Implications for Water Content Estimation
We have conducted a series of experiments designed to investigate elastic and electromagnetic (EM) velocity anisotropy associated with a preferentially aligned fracture system on a temperate valley glacier in south-central Alaska, USA. Measurements include a three-dimensional compressional wave (P-wave) seismic reflection survey conducted over a 300m 300m survey patch, with uniform source grid ...
